Built by the manufacturer to fit into its UV disinfection systems, the 602804 UV-MAX B4 UV lamp by Viqua helps maintain the cleanest possible water in your home. Ultraviolet (UV) light is a water treatment option highly effective at reducing bacteria and viruses from your water. UV light deactivates the DNA of bacteria and viruses as they pass by the UV lamp, removing their ability to multiply. UV treatment is frequently preferred for reducing bacteria and viruses as it doesn’t introduce chemicals or byproducts into your water and effectively reduces any microorganisms that can be resistant to chlorine. UV systems should be proceeded by a sediment or carbon prefilter and should be the last step of your water filtration. This lamp requires a sleeve and replacement O-ring for installation, both of which are sold separately.
